The objective of the study is to evaluate the long-term improvement options for Hiram’s Highway (from Marina Cove to Sha Ha) to cope with traffic demand (including daily and tourist traffic) and to improve road safety of drivers and pedestrians. We will recommend feasible, public-supported, cost-effective, socially, environmentally and economically sustainable schemes. Effective short-term traffic improvement measures would be also included to solve traffic problems in the transitional period.
The study also includes a series of comprehensive consultation with the District Councils, local communities, professional bodies, green groups and academics having interest in the Project, with an aim to collect views to developing a preferred road improvement scheme for Hiram’s Highway.
